We had a school discussion and a vote to choose our Archibull calf name. The students came up with lots of interesting names to choose from. These included Hannah, Woolly, Belle, Murrum-Bridget, River, just to name a few. Murrum-Bridget was the the most voted name with 10 votes. Murrum is her stud name- derived from Murrumbidgee. The Murrumbidgee is the river that flows through Jugiong. Bridget is a play on words, as it sounds similar to Murrumbidgee. We are so excited about our name and think that it is perfect for our Archibull calf.
It was so exciting to introduce our Archibull calf to Jugiong Public School. We took her on a tour. Our School Captains, Isabelle and Trixie, had a chat with the calf to discuss whether it was a boy or girl. We thought this was very important to find out first! Apparently, the calf was adamant it was a GIRL! The topic we are researching and learning about for our Archibull Project is The Australian Wool Industry... we thought this topic was very funny looking at our calf.
When the calf arrived, we showed her around our school and introduced her to everyone. She told us that she was a girl and her name was Murrum-Bridget.
